Persiana

For the love of food, Persiana was born nine years ago. Its owner had a passion for cooking, and with a little push from her father, the decided to open a restaurant.

Now with two locations (the other in the Makati area), it has developed a loyal following among young professionals. Have a fresh yoghurt shake while browsing over the menu, deliciously refreshing and healthy!

We had the Fried Cheese with Pita (Kesong Puti) and Greek Salad (lettuce, olives, tomatoes, onions, cucumber and goat cheese) for starters. For a light meal, try Gyros (also referred to as Shawarma) that has your choice of lamb, roast beef, or pork rolled in a pita bread and served with a delicious garlic sauce. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary, how about some Ox brain (sauteed in garlic) or Beef Liver (sauteed with tomatoes and onions)? We did not request for these plates, but we were told they were quite good.

The entrees we sampled were the Lamb Curry (Indian style) and Beef Couscous (beef stew with chorizo and vegetables topped on couscous) which were tender and quite flavorful with the different spices used. If you love seafood, the Shrimp Kebabs (seasoned with salt, pepper and lemon then grilled on a skewer) or Tuna Kebabs (served with a buttery pilaf rice) with a side order of Salad Irani (tomatoes, onions, cucumber with lemon and olive oil) is a favorite among customers.

The best way to finish this meal is ordering their White Chocolate & Almond Baklava; crunchy and moist and surprisingly not too sweet like most “authentic” ones you find in the Metropolis.
