Pho Hoa Vietnamese Noodle House
Stepping into Pho’ Hoa is like being inside a modern quiet Asian home. No frills, but the warm minimalist interiors draw one in. The star of the menu is pho (noodles) which are generally made from rice. They are tasty and filling, from the Pho Chin Nam (Beef Noodle Soup) to the Pho Tai Nam Chin Gan (steak, flank, brisket and tendon with noodles). One can adjust the spiciness according to one’s taste by adding in hoimsin (mildly sweet and soy-based) sauce and chili sauce. This is definitely not your grand mother’s bulalo (beef shank tenderized in broth).
Goi Ga (Chicken Vegetable Salad), great with honey vinaigrette, is a crowd favorite. Worth tasting are Com Bo Xao (tenderloin beef with rice) and Bun Tom Thit Nuong (marinated prawn with grilled pork). And by all means, order the lemonade – a whole lemon is squeezed per glass for great flavor. This restaurant does not believe in scrimping. No wonder the place is always full.
