Portico 1771

From the same group that brought Chateau 1771, Portico is a restaurant you will always be pleased to go back to. It puts in those extra touches that make the dining experience memorable-wonderful warm bread, attentive and helpful waiters, cozy and intimate mate atmosphere with romantic guitar music. Reminiscent of a European sidewalk bistro, Portico adds character to the Malate scene and serves “Italian oriental no-borders cuisine”. The bright yellow interiors, wooden ceiling fans, warmly-lit lamps, and sliding) glass wooden doors provide an ideal setting for a dinner date.

Each menu item is unique, tasty, and beautifully presented. The Spring Tofu, silken tofu wrapped in a delicate omelet glazed with honey-ginger sauce, Wild Mushroom Soup, a creamy blend of button, oyster, and shiitake, and the Shrimp and Crab Nicoise, freshly mixed greens tossed in soy-sesame dressing are among the choices to start. Then move on to Smoked Salmon Tagliatelle, green pasta on a duo of marinara sauce and garlic cream, Chicken Duxelle, pan-seared with mushroom and white wine, or Gindara with Crispy Pata Bits, poached black cod with diced pork knuckles and aromatic vegetables. The entree portions are quite large, so we suggest you share it. The exciting version of sans rival, Coffee Bean Sans Rival, or Panna Cotta, cooked cream with cranberry sauce and cashew nuts is a great way to finish a meal.

Upstairs is a charming room perfect for special occasions or private functions. Or should you desire an outdoor setting, dine out in the garden at the rear.
