Macau Pigeon House

This establishment is known for its flavorful Fried Pigeon (the baby pigeon is tender and flavorful, the large pigeon quite savory); Eggplant with Chinese Bagoong (anchovies) served in a hot pot; as well as Tofu with Century Egg and Mashed Pork and excellent Roasted Pork, Frog’s Legs and Congee (rice porridge).

It also has a good selection of decently priced wines. Diners are also often encouraged to bring their own wines and just pay the corresponding corkage fee. Freshly roasted coffee -Robusta-dominated blend that is roasted every morning-is available for those who want a perkier way to end their meal.

Other dishes one should try are Fried Salmon Belly, Spicy Shrimp with Green and Red Peppers, and Ho Fan (egg and shrimp with flat rice noodles). These are simple and authentic but delicious meals.

The meals are free of monosodium glutamate, so what one eats is truly without artifice.
